My apology for being late to update this photo album to you, but I’m excited to finally share it today. It”s from my latest workshop held at Yamagata mono school on the last weekend of July. Many thanks to the mono school staff who has put a lot of effort to prepare and to all the participants who made this workshop more enjoyable with a great company at each time! Yes, we had a morning and afternoon classes in 1 day. I hope your curiosity and exploration in creativity opened up your eyes once again for reusing these materials into zori, something totally unique and comfortable to wear and that’s probably you’ve already noticed by now.
Here, I’m finding myself being amazed after all that we, regardless of where we live and what language we speak, are making these pairs of zori with this same instruction at the workshop I’ve done in many places. I’ve shared this skill and the essence of Japanese culture that has been put in to this modern footwear and realized that we are the same big family that enjoy meeting each other from out community we live in and embrace the beauty of the hand-crafted items with our appreciation.
Thank you to all for coming to the workshop!
